More Softball and Crawfish

Friday night our softball team participated in Meet the Lions night at Leander High School. It was a blast! The girls were able to go out on the field for the National Anthem, got beads, their face painted, noise makers and just had so much fun. Fin went out with the pitcher and was able to stand on the pitching mound. Fun! She says when she grows up she wants to play softball and be on tv.

Saturday night we went to a crawfish boil at my brother and sister in law's house. It was a great time and the food was yummy! Love this time of year with that spicy goodness and cold beer.

A Fun Filled Weekend!

This last weekend was so much fun, exhausting, but fun! We started off with pedicures after I picked up Finley from school. Finley's friend and fun mom joined us! Trent picked us up from the house and we headed to Finley's school carnival, which was AMAZING! So much fun! Avery ran around like a crazy person. Completely disregarded the lines that you had to stand in and barreled her way to the front. She is seriously so aggressive; it is funny to watch. The highlight of the night for Finley was winning a goldfish. So, we are in the fish business....again. Saturday morning we stocked up in fish gear and got 'Red Eye' all settled into his new home. Finley was invited to her friends little brother's Birthday party and we planned to meet for lunch before the party. When we were at lunch Trent sent me a text to let me know Avery had noticed that 'Red Eye' was sleeping. Really?? I knew the fish would die, but less than 24 hours later?! Needless to say we upgraded to the .32 cent goldfish and going strong.

That evening Finely and Avery were both invited to a party for a girl on Finley's softball team. It was at a bounce place and they had a blast! Avery ran around like a crazy person again. At one point I lost track of her for what was probably 10 minutes, I then headed up to the front to get help to find the monster. All of a sudden the men's restroom door flung open and she came racing out of there. I was panicked and asked her what she was doing....she said she had to go to the bathroom. Crazy kid! She was soaped down with anti bacterial soap that night!

Sunday, we headed to church and breakfast, then went to a spring fling for Fin's softball league. It was such a fun day! When we got home Sunday evening, we were all exhausted. What a fun weekend!

Fishing with Daddy

We had a great time fishing at Trent's parents a few weekends ago. We are so blessed to have such a beautiful place to go and relax! The lone fish in the below picture is the one Finley caught. Avery sat so still on daddy's lap!

Avery's Style

Avery has her very own style. This head strong mama has learned that there is no reason to try and stop the greatness of Avery's style. It is really pretty simple, she wants a skirt, tights and a jersey. Does not matter if it matches, actually, she likes it better if it does not match. I wanted to post a few of my favorites. Oh, and yes, that Texas jersey has been through the wash a lot!!

1st Grade Science Fair

I had post about Finley's 1st Grade Science Fair. One day in early December she came running up to me after school waving a flyer around. I thought she had won an award of sorts. No, she was dying to sign up for the science fair! She was the only one in her class who signed up. When I found this out, I was feeling a mix of pride for Finley and thinking how could we be the only parents who got suckered into this deal?! Only kidding, seeing her work so hard made it all worth it. The hardest part for me was not helping, parent involvement has to be kept to a minimum. Really, just buying the supplies. Finley is a total science and math nerd and we love her so much!!

Kickin Off Spring Break in 42 Degrees and Rain

I think most of us kicked our Spring Break off in COLD weather. I actually kind of enjoyed staying in on a gloomy Friday and hanging around the house. When Trent got home Finley and I headed out for much needed pedicures! I love girl time with my sweet Finley. I remember loving going to the nail salon with my mom when I was younger.

Avery is getting older and we can't leave her behind as easily. She just knew she was missing out on a good time and was mad as fire when we walked out the door. We felt bad so we called to see if Trent and Avery could meet us for dinner at the girls favorite spot, Chili's!

We are headed to Houston now for a wedding. Liz and Justin are keeping the girls and Trent and I will have some us time, yea!!
